The University of Alabama (UA), founded in 1831, is the states oldest public university and the senior comprehensive doctoral-level institution in the state of Alabama. UA consists of 12 academic colleges, offers over 200 fields of study, and is consistently ranked among the top 50 public US universities and colleges by US News & World Report.
